| Those who have stayed behind soon will say, “Our business and our family kept us busy, so ask (Allah) to forgive us.” They communicate with their tongue what is not in their hearts.

|
| Those left behind will say, when you depart to get bounties of war, “Let us be with you (we will follow you).” They desire the words of Allah to be changed. Say, “Never will you follow us; this is what Allah Said for you before.” Then they will say, “But you are jealous of us.” But they only understand a little. | ||

|
| Say to those Arabs, who stayed behind, “You will be called upon to fight a mighty nation, and you will fight with them, or (you will fight until) they will make peace. If you follow, Allah will give you a good reward. But if you turn away, as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment.” | ||

|
| It is not to make it difficult on the blind, not to make it difficult on the lame, not to make it difficult on the sick. Whoever follows Allah and His Messenger will enter the Gardens with rivers flowing below them, but whoever turns away will be punished with a painful punishment. | ||

| Allah was pleased with the believers when they took oath under the tree. He Knew what was in their hearts, and He sent peace upon them and soon rewarded them with victory. (The Pledge of the Tree (Arabic: بيعة الشجرة bayʻat ash-shajarah) or Pledge of Satisfaction (Arabic: بيعة الرضوان bayʻat ar-riḍwān) or Pledge of Ridwan was a pledge that was sworn to the Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-sallam) by his Sahaba (companions) before the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah (6 AH, 628 CE). The pledge, sworn under a tree, was to avenge the rumored death of Uthman bin Affan). | ||

| And He is the One who held back their hands on you, and your hands on them, in the center of Mecca, after you became victorious on them. Allah is Watching what you are doing. (Treaty of Hudaybiyyah (Arabic: صَلَح ٱلْحُدَيْبِيَّة, romanized: Ṣalaḥ Al-Ḥudaybiyyah.It was a pivotal treaty between Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-Sallam), representing the state of Medina, and the Qurayshi tribe of Mecca in January 628 (corresponding to Dhu al-Qi'dah, AH 6). It helped to decrease tension between the two cities, affirmed peace for a period of 9 years, 9 months, and 9 days, and authorized followers of Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ (ṣallā llāhu ʿalayhī wa-ʾālihī wa-sallam) to return the following year in a peaceful pilgrimage, later known as The First Pilgrimage). | ||

| Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Those with him are stern against the nonbelievers yet compassionate amongst themselves. You see them kneeling, prostrating, seeking blessings from Allah, and acceptance. The marks are on their faces from the effects of prostration. Such is their description in the Torah and the Gospel: like a plant that sprouts, becomes strong, grows thick, and rests on its stem, impressing the farmers. Through them, He enrages the nonbelievers. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do good deeds forgiveness and a great reward. |
